Hi –
Is there any way to have the sitemap automatically submitted to google, etc?
Thanks.
does it limit the number of posts that shows up?
Hi
not in this plug-in version. I’m working at this feature…
You can set the number of posts that is being shown in one sitemap. if You have more posts it’d make another sitemap.

Hi.
Thank You for trying out my plugin. All it’s settings are placed at yourblog.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=sitemap-index.php site. There You can find „Sitemap URL address:” that should look like yourblog.com/wp-content/plugins/sitemap-index/gen_sitemap.php. At beginning You have to submit the sitemap to google webmasters page yourself. It only ping sitemap changes…
regards
hi ni noticed that although yahoo is the only SE with a problem submitting, however, when checking google and bing, for example- they are not familiar with any submitted sitemap from my site. just fyi. its a good idea though.
How do I remove this option for the „contributors”? It shows up when they log in.
Hi,
This looks great, but I am not sure how it create sitemap when it don’t generate any, I am using XML sitemap plugin that generates the xml file and inform major search engines like you, but my question is that what does your plugin do? Does it only tell google etc when there is change in the sitemap. Please explain I am confused on this.
thanks!!!
On one of my sites the urlset closing tag was not being added. I fixed it. I suggest you set $xmlForFooter and $xmlForHeaderin the same place in your code. Contact me if you want a copy of how I fixed it.
Thank you. Otherwise this works quite well, and I appreciate you making it available.
Hi
I wasn’t able to repeat this situation. Please help me understand when it happens.
Hi
could you describe what option you are reffering to?
This plugin doesn’t create a sitemap XML file on you server. It dynamicly generates the file whenevr you or search engine opens sitemap’s URL (yourdomain.com/wp-content/plugins/sitemap-index/gen_sitemap.php). Despite of that you could simply save the file XML on your disk like any other page or image.
